Okay, it’s that time of year!!!!
It might even be past “that time of year” but Trinidad carnival fete tickets are already dropping and fete flyers are releasing. I don’t do a bunch of switching of my fetes each year (if it ain’t broke, doh fix it!) and this year I tried a couple new events but I think I’m going back to the drawing board.
This year my fete schedule looked like this…

2/27 Monday: Dirty Dozen Jouvert , On the Road with Tribe

This year was the first time I attended Beach House, which I enjoyed but I think it costs way too much (210 USD) for me not to get there early and enjoy my monies worth. That same day I went to Am.Beach, which ended around 10 am and I’m not the best constant pumper so once I took a nap, I did not want to wake up and go anywhere which resulted in a very fashionably late arrival.
This year was also my first time attending an event on Sunday night going into jouvert. Next year I will continue using Sunday as restoration day because how I felt on Carnival Monday is something I never need to experience again!
I kid you not, this was me on Hilton’s bed. DEAD, DEAD and more DEAD. My friend had to drag me off the bed to wake me up for Monday Mas…

The years before were my years of constant fete after fete and although that makes for a fun experience with different friends, I’m usually uber exhausted after the fact. I’m starting to value my sleep (I LOVE to sleep) a lot more nowadays and my sleep goes hand and hand with my happiness so I’m keeping it minimal this year. One fete a day, keeps the under eye bags away!
