New location, same vibe! Curlfest 2019 was for the books! Curly Girl Collective moved their annual Curlfest from Prospect Park to Randall’s island and it was such a BLACK ASS VIBE!
The event which promotes natural hair and the expression of black beauty, love and strength through our solidarity dealt with the issue of outgrowing the park it used for years prior in 2018. While some patrons expressed, they had issues receiving their packages due to extremely long waits and lines, I cut all lines and got my package with a breeze.
After receiving my package. I went to the front of the park where the stage was located. Everything after that was history. PLEASE ATTEND A CURLFEST FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE! This year they announced the first installment of Curlfest in Atlanta on 9/21.
